Overview
A medical food intended for use under medical supervision.
A powdered tyrosine amino acid medical food on a carbohydrate base.
Indications
For use in the dietary management of inborn errors of amino acid metabolism such as Phenylketonuria, and is used under strict medical supervision to provide the specific amounts of tyrosine unable to be achieved by dietary modification alone.
Dosage and Administration
To be determined by the clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient.
Preparation Guidelines
To be determined by the clinician or dietitian.
May be used in low protein diets in a variety of ways;
- Mixed in with protein substitute.
- Added to modular feeds.
- Incorporated into other permitted
food or drink.
